Function / Content

This series consists of surveyor's level books which record the levels of land surveyed. Included are level books for town area Katherine, and roads in Alice Springs. The books record the following readings; back sight, intermediate, fore sight, rise fall, reduced levels, lengths, and remarks. Some of the books are annotated "indexed" in April 1959. These books were transferred by the Historical Society of the Northern Territory in 1994.
